Skirt length

For the ladies in our group: the question of acceptable skirt length for the trip has come up. Normally, the appropriate length for a female ambassador’s skirt length is “fingertip length.” This is the same rule of thumb (okay, a bad pun) most schools use; if you are standing straight with your hands at your side, is your hem lower than your fingertips? The question comes up regarding our trip to the Vatican. There, it isn’t a People to People rule that applies, but a Vatican City rule. Basically, while visiting the Vatican your knees must be covered. This can be accomplished in one of two ways: wearing a longer skirt, or wearing pants. With that bit of knowledge, the choice is up to you as to how you’ll cover your knees. And no, shorts with volleyball knee pads won’t work. (You see guys, I really wasn’t kidding about this being for the ladies only.)
